Political influence in Afghanistan

Tajiks have been influential in Afghan politics despite only ruling the country for two brief periods.[11] The first instance occurred in 1929 when Habibullah Kalakani ruled for nine months.[11] The second period was in 1992 when Burhanuddin Rabbani became President under the Peshawar Accord, before being subsequently ousted.[11]
